Dog Treat Recipes Meat and Cheese Dog Biscuits 2 Cps. Whole Wheat Flour 1/2 cp Shredded Cheddar Cheese 1/4 cp. melted fat (beef, lamb or bacon) Cold Water *Preheat oven to 400 degrees F Mix flour, cheese and fat in a bowl. Add cold water one tablespoon at a time and knead until you have a stiff dough that you can gather into a ball. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into treats and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes.
Marvelous Mutt Meatball (These ground beef meatballs are a tasty treat for dogs and people, too!) 1 lb Ground Beef (or ground sirloin) 2/3 cp Grated Cheddar Cheese 1 Carrot, finely chopped or grated 1 cp. Bread Crumbs 2 Eggs, whisked 3 TBSP Tomato Paste (low sodium) *Preheat oven to 350 degrees F Combine all ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Scoop out by the spoonful and roll into mini-sized meatballs. Place the meatballs on a cookie sheet sprayed with nonfat cooking spray. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool and store in the refrigerator in a container with a lid.
Apple Cinnamon Dog Training Bits 4 cps Whole Wheat Flour 1/2 cp Cornmeal 1 Egg 2 TBSP Vegetable Oil 1 tsp Cinnamon 1 Small Apple, grated 1 1/3 cps. Water *Preheat oven to 325 degrees F In a bowl combine all ingredients except the apple and water. Grate apple into mixture and add water. Mix until it starts forming a dough. Turn out a lightly floured surface. knead well. Roll out to 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. Take a straight edge and score the dough horizontally then vertically to make a grid of 3/4 inch squares. Be careful not to cut through the dough completely. Place the dough on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with a nonstick spray. Bake for 1 hour. Break apart for storage.
